I guess I should introduce myself…

Welcome to my Tumblr filled with exotic things growing out of my mind.

Here you get to see the comic projects I’m working on, the amazing people I’ll be working with and hopefully interact with me on a regular basis.

Before you go and explore here’s a little intro about myself.

For as long as I can remember I have been wanting to “show the world” what I was thinking. I wanted to be a cartoonist because I thought that would be the sure fire way to do that. For the earlier part of my life, I spent a lot of my time trying to attain that goal, but unfortunately, the rest of the world did not think that was a worthy enough venture.

I didn’t possess the strength that many artists I know did of pressing on regardless the odds. I decided to look at paths that could use my artistic eye, such as graphic design, thinking that would allow me to someday convey what I was thinking. But as most things in life, reality set in and the realization that I’ll only convey other’s ideas finally dawned on me.

Don’t get me wrong my career path puts food on the table and pays the bills and I appreciate it tremendously after learning the realities of freelancing (a story for another day). But having a brain swarming with ideas and stories, yet not having an outlets, left me tormented. Being a husband and new parent made it incredibly hard to start back drawing. So I decided to write.

After rekindling my love for comics, I realized that I wanted to share my stories visually. I also realized that I didn’t have to be good at drawing, that I could work with artists who could create in the styles I visualized mentaly.

Let me tell you that the past 3 years I have been doing this, I have felt the most content. Not having constraints and freely writing what I thought without fear of judgement is a wonderful feeling. What cemented this as being my eternal journey, is the feedback I got from artists and their enjoyment of my work and their abilities to bring what I wrote to life. What also made this thing stick for me is hearing from a friend of mine that his son really loved what he saw and that he wanted to write comics too.

I will be writing comics (about them and my own) for a very long time. I am incredibly happy that I found this outlet. I hope you enjoy my stories as much as I enjoy creating them.
